08.26.13 — Long Time No Post

It’s been such a long time, and for my followers, I apologize. Life is life and currently I’m suffering from a bit of a hand injury, therefore typing is really hard. I have all of these writing ideas going on in my head, it’s just that my body doesn’t want to respond properly!

Soon though. I’ve been trying to rest it in hopes that pretty soon I’ll be on my way again!

Stay tuned.

Advice: Listen To Your Body.

This bit of advice is very straight forward and obvious – so it won’t be a lengthy advice column. Sit tight for one of those in the future.

Listen To Your Body.

It sounds simple enough, but how often to do we this? As a society, we run off of an average of 5 hours of sleep and caffeine to get us through the day. Not I personally, because I dislike a lot of caffeine, but definitely the 5 hours of sleep.

Granted, when I work out, I sleep better, but on a regular basis — I have really bad insomnia. Sleep is hard to come by. And I’m not one of those people who can nap either (-cries forever-)

My brother is an on the go guy and he always has been. He is ALWAYS doing something, and I’m not exaggerating. And because of this, he burns himself out. He can’t nap either.  The other night he was complaining about being tired and we told him to just go to sleep when he got home.

Did he? No, of course not. But you know what happens? He eventually gets to the point where he is SO exhausted that he will crash and sleep for 12 hours.

Listen to your body! Sleep when you are tired. Eat when you’re hungry. Stop eating when you’re full. If you have allergies, stay away from perfume. If you have a headache, take it easy. If something hurts – get it checked out.

If you ignore your body, you’re only hurting yourself.

I’ve been on a nice exercise regime but guess what? Today, I was tired and headachy, and despite having it on my calendar to work out – I DIDN’T. Because my body said no. And I’ll thank myself tomorrow when I end up doing it double time!

But yes…LISTEN.

Personal Entry + Update.

As I said before, life has just grabbed me by the gut and just hasn’t given me the motivation to blog! It makes me sad, to be honest. But there are some things that I’ll be putting up here pretty soon.

A Review on a couple of things including A hair Tool, A Hair Mask, A Juice/smoothie, Health Bars, a Tea and maybe some make up!

Beyond that, I also want to share some fitness things with you!

Now with the personal…

I’m really not even sure what to say. Being depressed is something I’ve really hated to admit as I’ve aged. Sure, when you’re young, it’s no big deal to admit that your planets are all swinging out of orbit but as you get older you feel like you need to have all of your eggs in one basket. When one egg falls out and cracks on the kitchen floor, it’s literally like the world is ending.

That is how I’ve felt. Like I’m dancing around on eggshells and I don’t know where to find the mop.

This too shall pass.

I know it will. But for now, there’s a cloud and it’s hazing over everything I need to be doing. Keep me in your thoughts, loves? I’d really appreciate it.

Don’t You Hate It When…

Life just starts happening?

This week has been so busy and I’m not even really sure what all has been going on. Meaning, I’m just exhausted. Here in California the heat is starting to climb already. It’s been in the 90’s all week and I literally (almost) melt and become utterly useless.

I have a bunch of things I will be posting reviews on soon though, so keep a look out for those :)

And a decent update! Till then, I need to catch up on some sleep.

Night you!

What’s on my Bathroom Counter | Products I Use.

I always find it interesting to watch YouTube video’s (www.youtube.com)  where girls show exactly what their bathroom counter/makeup area’s look like and briefly talk about what products they use because then you feel more…connected in a way. Not to mention you get to be sort of nosy in a way and see what other people are using. I know that a lot of the time (and no offense to people who can afford to spend that kind of money) most of the guru’s on youtube always rave about this ridiculously expensive products. Some people can’t afford some of them and some just don’t see the point in buying $50 moisturizers, etc.Granted, sometimes you do get what you pay for, but there are a lot of diamonds in the rough, guys! Skincare is something that I think you should be able to splurge on, but there are some really good CHEAP products out there in your local drugstore as well.

I’m one of those frugal people. But a smart frugal person. I like to research and get reviews from more than just a handful of people before I bother purchasing a product to try.

So let’s get on with it!

My Bathroom Counter.

My Bathroom Counter.

*Note: These are all products I’ve obviously purchased with my own money.*

  • Johnson’s Natural Baby Shampoo & Body Wash: Sometimes if I’m lazy and don’t want to mess with eye-makeup remover and makeup wipes, I’ll just wet my face and use 4 fluffy pumps of this and wash my makeup off before moving on.
  • Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser: I think this is my all time favorite cleanser. It’s not a heavy duty acne one per say, but it cleans what is left after I remove my makeup and it doesn’t dry my skin out at all. I’ll probably use this forever.
  • Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion: This is a new product I’ve started using. I have the small bottle of the Daily Moisturizer with SPF and I like that as well, but I wanted something I could use at night that wasn’t too thick but was thick enough that I knew it was working. This works perfect for me.
  • Face Secrets Facial Brush: I just reviewed this little guy! Love him.
  • Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer: I use this daily. I’m not real big on foundation for the most part, I never have been, and one pump of this with a pump of moisturizer works fine for me. It leaves your skin glowy and a little more even in tone than it originally is. It has SPF as well, so that’s a big plus. I’m curious about their BB Cream but I’m pretty sure it’s the same product just with a different name…if that is true, shame on you! (I use the Skin79 VIP Gold BB Cream if I actually want to look really nice).
  • Eucerin Daily Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30 (I believe): Sometimes if my skin is doing awesome this is all I’ll wear. I love this lotion. It’s never given me a bad reaction, it melts into your skin, it’s light, doesn’t smell funny and it keeps your skin soft. I wear this every day regardless (this is the lotion I mix with my tinted moisturizer).
  • Vaseline: This is for my lips because frankly, it’s the only thing that keeps them soft and healthy looking.
  • Tea Tree Oil: For active spots and to help heal ones that are fading.
  • Glass case of Cotton Rounds, and one with cotton balls.
  • Random things in the box that aren’t used all of the time: Home-made eye-makeup remover (water, grape seed oil and baby wash), bottle of Witch Hazel, bottle of Grape Seed Oil, a little bottle of Clean n’ Clear Toner with Salicylic Acid, a little box with some hair care samples and my Palmers Coconut Deep Conditioner, a hair band, a bottle of Baking Soda, a bottle of Sugar and a hair tie.
  • Behind the Box: Caress Body Wash (exfoliating) Burnt Brown Sugar, Aussie Heat Protectant, Tresemme Argan Oil and Aveeno Daily Body Lotion.

I’m fairly simple as a beauty person. I find things that work for me and I try not to change them up too much.

For Hair: I’m a big lover of Tresemme products because they keep my hair soft and in nice shape. But I like the Aussie Heat Protectant. So these probably won’t ever change. For extra’s I enjoy the Palmers Coconut stuff and I like general Coconut Oil for lighter deep conditioning.

For Skin: I enjoy Johnson’s, Cetaphil and some more natural things.

Hope you enjoyed this! If you have any questions about certain products, let me know.
